Terms of Use
Effective November 4, 2026
Medical disclaimer
UnitedMarkers is an educational tool for organising and understanding your own health data. It is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice, diagnosis or treatment.
- Marker explanations, reference and “optimal” ranges, charts, flags and AI-generated content are general information. They may be incomplete, out of date or wrong for your situation, and reference ranges differ between laboratories and populations.
- Imported values (from PDFs, portals, wearables or AI extraction) can be misread. Always check them against your original lab report.
- AI assistants can make mistakes and state wrong information confidently.
- Never ignore professional medical advice or delay seeking it because of something you read in UnitedMarkers. Do not start, stop or change any medication or treatment without talking to a qualified healthcare professional.
- In an emergency, call your local emergency number (911 in the U.S.) immediately.
1. Agreement
By using UnitedMarkers (the “Service”) you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service. You must be at least 18 years old.
2. Your data, your keys
- You own your data. Your vault is encrypted on your device with a key derived from your password, which we never receive.
- Keep your recovery key safe. If you forget your password, your recovery key is the only way to recover your data. If you lose both, the data cannot be recovered by anyone, including us. You can still reset your account by email to keep your plan and credits. You are responsible for keeping your password and recovery key safe, and for exporting backups.
- One account per person and email address. Creating accounts in bulk or with disposable addresses to obtain free credits is not allowed.
- Data stored only in your browser is lost if you clear your browser's site data or lose the device, unless you have a backup or have enabled sync.
3. Third-party services
Optional features connect to services you choose, such as AI providers (UnitedMarkers AI runs on Venice.ai; or your own API key), Oura, or lab portals. Your use of them is governed by their terms and privacy policies, and you are responsible for any fees they charge (for example AI usage billed to your API key). We are not responsible for third-party services.
4. UnitedMarkers AI and credits
- UnitedMarkers AI is included with a UnitedMarkers account and is metered in credits. Each answer uses credits according to its length, and your remaining credits are always shown in the app.
- Monthly credits refill on the 1st of each month (UTC) and do not roll over. Extra or bonus credits stay until used. Credits have no cash value and cannot be transferred.
- We may change free allowances and the credits needed per answer, with notice in the app. Credits you have paid for will not be reduced.
- UnitedMarkers AI only answers questions about health and your data in UnitedMarkers. Other requests are declined without using credits. Automated attempts to bypass this, or excessive automated use, may lead to suspension.
- The service may be unavailable at times, and answers can be wrong (see the medical disclaimer above).
5. Acceptable use
Do not misuse the Service. In particular:
- do not attempt to access other users' accounts;
- do not overload, probe or attack the Service;
- do not use the AI relay for purposes unrelated to the Service;
- do not store data you have no right to store, or use the Service in violation of any law.
We may suspend accounts that put the Service or other users at risk.
6. Source code
The Service's source code is licensed under the GNU Affero General Public License v3.0 and is shared with anyone on request (hello@unitedmarkers.com), so you can verify how the Service works and handles your data. The license governs your rights to the code; these Terms govern your use of the hosted Service at unitedmarkers.com.
7. Availability and changes
We work to keep the Service available and your data safe, but we provide it “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose, accuracy and non-infringement. We may change, suspend or discontinue features. If we ever plan to shut down the hosted Service, we will give at least 30 days' notice so you can export your data. If we introduce paid plans, their prices and terms will be shown before you subscribe. Existing features will not be removed from your account without notice.
8. Limitation of liability
To the fullest extent permitted by law, UnitedMarkers and its operators will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, health outcomes or decisions made based on the Service. Our total liability for any claim relating to the Service is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or USD 50. Some jurisdictions do not allow these limitations, in which case they apply only to the extent permitted.
9. Ending use
You can stop using the Service and delete your data at any time (see the Privacy Policy). We may terminate access for violations of these Terms.
10. Changes to these Terms
We will post updates on this page with a new effective date and notify users in the app before material changes take effect. Continuing to use the Service after that means you accept the updated Terms.
